“Experiencing Success One Good Idea at a Time”
Alexander Tyler on Democracy, 1887
“In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:
“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.
A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.
From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”
“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.”
The first step to turning things around for the better is to educate ourselves about the wonderful constitution which created the God inspired Republic established by our forefathers.
The purpose of this government was to give legal protection to our God-given rights.
Another step is to secure our own finances, first for our benefit and for the benefit of family and friends.
Yet another step is to teach and encourage others to become secure in their own affairs and to stand up as responsible citizens.
Then we should be in the position as a catalyst for the restoration of the liberty which at one time made this nation a bright light in a dark world.
“SOCIALISTS IGNORE THE SIDE OF MAN THAT IS THE SPIRIT “
They can provide you shelter, fill your belly with bacon and beans, treat you when you are ill, all the things guaranteed to a prisoner or a slave. They don’t understand that we also dream.” Ronald Reagan
BEWARE OF HANDOUTS
One of the things I’m working hard to accomplish, as your financial mentor, is to make sure that you never fall into the trap of becoming dependent on government handouts. This is surely the worst kind of slavery. For many, there is no escape.
Did you know that during the time of slavery in this country, a slave with special skills, like a blacksmith, could buy his own freedom by paying his master the amount of money equal to a year’s wage? This means that if he could save 10% of his income each year for ten years, he could buy his freedom. At that time, he would be free not only from his slave master, but he would also have no income taxes to pay.
As modern Americans, do we now have a way to buy ourselves out of tax slavery?
Just to show the enslaving effect of government programs, you will be interested to know, that for every job created by the present administration, 75 people have gone on food stamps. At present, more people have lost their health insurance than have signed up for Obamacare
This country was built on self-reliance and free enterprise. We need to develop our own financial independence.
Taxes are one of the greatest threats to financial security. Let us help you control this important threat to our success.

AN INSPIRATIONAL POEM
“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However, I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.
For Life is a just an employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why you must bear the task.
I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.
-Jessie B. Rittenhouse
To me, the whole point of this poem is the fact that we can determine what we want to accomplish in life, and then we can move thoughtfully towards accomplishing the goals we have set. No one needs to limit us. The choices are ours.
Call us. We can help.
